the opportunity in early childhood development

At songs for seeds, we have created a ‘Mommy and Me’ style class that combines music with early childhood education for a little rockin’ and a lot of learnin’! songs for seeds is a 45 minute, interactive class encouraging children aged newborn to 6 years old, to sing, dance and play along with a live, three-piece band. The class is designed to enhance the process of learning. It fosters the sensory, attentive, cognitive, emotional, and motor capacities. These have been proven to be the driving forces behind all other learning.

For our songs for seeds Franchise Owners, this business allows them the opportunity to make a difference in their communities by providing parents and kids with a weekly experience that they all look forward to. It’s about being part of a franchise company culture that values strong community outreach and impact.

the story behind our success

It was a cold December morning in NYC when Alison Berna and Allison Schlanger bumped into each other in the lobby of a not-so-kid-friendly commercial building on 23rd street in Manhattan. They wondered, separately, “why was it so hard to raise kids in cities, why were there so few options for babies, and why did all of them seem so spread out?”

Bonding almost immediately, they spent the next few months making every excuse at their jobs (Alison at UNICEF and Allison at MTV) to make it to that music class each week. The rush to get there was not only to bond with their growing babies but also to see one another. As they sat in that music class singing and playing with four kids on their two laps, they dreamed of a way to incorporate their careers with their new role as parents. Their dream was to create a modern, safe, clean space where families with young kids could learn and have fun, this was when songs for seeds was born.
